COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEET TODAY

Following a 2:30 p.m. closed session with labor negotiators, the Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees will reconvene for a 3 p.m. open session this afternoon (August 12). Reporter Mike Lipsitz has agenda highlights…

Among items on this afternoon’s agenda is a resolution honoring the contributions of Bud and Betty Garrett, part of the school’s 20th anniversary celebration. Among his many contributions, Colonel Elmer (Bud) Garrett, United States Marine Corps (Retired) saw a need to serve veteran students and so provided a major gift to fund Bud & Betty’s Place for Veterans in 2013. Also today, trustees will likely approve an updated board policy on tuberculosis testing for new hires, enter a year-long contract for legal representation, and approve an advertising plan aboard the Twentynine Palms Marine Corp Combat Center.
