The early success of enrollment for the new community ESL classes was highlighted at Copper Mountain College board of trustees meeting yesterday. Reporter Ernest Figueroa was there and shares on this and other items…

Following a closed session on the Superintendent’s Evaluation and a conference with the college’s employee’s labor negotiator, the standard departmental reports highlighted the encouraging enrollment for the newly formed adult and student ESL program offered in partnership with the Morongo Unified School District. Human Resources’ employee Sharlah Harvey was reported to have received the college’s Star Award for electronically updating all personnel files, and an in-house produced ‘commercial’ featuring the college’s Automotive Technology department was also enthusiastically received. President Otten followed with a report on the Copper Mountain College-MUSD Joint Board meeting focusing on continuing efforts to ensure all graduating students and parents are aware of all college programs and opportunities available. Finally, all pending information, consent and action items in academic affairs, human resources, and business services were readily approved with little discussion.
