The Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees held a workshop on redistricting and met in a regular meeting yesterday. Reporter Eric Knabe has the details…
Before the meeting yesterday, the board held a workshop on redistricting and assessing the district’s liability under the California Voting Rights Act. It was decided that in the next workshop the Board will look into the necessity of spending $18,000 to $20,000 on a demographic survey to judge liability.
In the regular meeting, board members went over a draft of suggested qualifications that candidates will need to replace Superintendent/President Jeff Cummings, who is retiring. The board then asked Cummings to add experience in California as a preferred, but not critical, qualification.
And the board voted unanimously for New Horizons Counseling to continue its behavioral health counseling sessions with Copper Mountain College students during the Spring 2019 Semester.
