COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BOARD HEARS THEIR FISCAL STATUS IS BEING MONITORED FOR RISK

The Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees will meet in a closed session meeting 2:00 Thursday, September 11, to continue its discussion of the employment of a superintendent/president. The board will also negotiate with the College’s Faculty Association. The open session will begin at 3. First up on the agenda, the Board will hold a public hearing on the 2014-15 budget. Following reports from administration, students, faculty, and staff, the board will discuss a letter from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges which states Copper Mountain College will be under enhanced monitoring due to fiscal status being at risk. Also on the agenda, the board will be asked to approve new course outlines, as well as new hires and appointments. The meeting will be held in the community room of the Bell Center on the college campus in Joshua Tree.
