The Copper Mountain Community College Board of Trustees heard from Chief Business Officer Meredith Plummer as she presented the details of the 2019- 2020 proposed adopted budget. With the projected total fund expenditures at $22 million, it is $500,000 over budget. The board was informed that the reserves will fill in the shortage and the budget was approved.

Melyne Schiel, Dean of Instruction at Copper Mountain College, discussed the many career technical education programs on campus, which include registered nursing.

The board then learned more about CTE, or Career Technical Education at CMC, from the highly successful Nursing Program to the new course in Culinary Arts and the upcoming CADD, or Computer Aided Design certificate program. CTE programs represent almost 40 percent of all degrees and certificates awarded at  CMC over the last six years.
