Friday morning, Congressman Paul Cook of Yucca Valley joined a bipartisan group of fellow U.S. Representatives to wash the Vietnam Veterans Memorial by hand. Cook said washing the memorial was a way to show respect and gratitude for the 58,000 men and women who lost their lives in Vietnam. Cook added, “Many of them served alongside me, but didn’t make it home. We must never forget their service or their sacrifice. Our nation is forever in their debt.”
