CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A convicted sex offender was arrested early Tuesday morning after deputies made a traffic stop in Twentynine Palms. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle near Star Dune Avenue and Highway 62 shortly before 4 a.m. for having an obstructed license plate. The deputy subsequently determined that the driver, Cantrell Cordova, 21, had a warrant for his arrest from Riverside County for statutory rape, and that Cordova did not update his sex registration status as required by law. Cantrell Cordova was arrested on his warrant and for investigation of failing to update his sex registration status, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $75,000.
