Yesterday morning (October 23) at around 7:41 a.m., County Sheriff’s deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a report of a woman with a firearm near the intersection of Airway Ave and Primrose Drive in Yucca Valley. Deputies say it was there that they contacted Cynthia Alderson, a 38 year-old resident of Yucca Valley.
Deputies report that Alderson was found sitting near a business with a firearm and ammunition scattered around her. During their investigation, deputies learned the firearm was stolen by Alderson earlier in the day, and that Alderson has multiple felony convictions. As a felon, Alderson is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Alderson was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and theft of a firearm, and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $30,000 bail.
