CONVICTED FELON ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF HANDGUN

A Hesperia man was arrested Wednesday morning, accused of being a felon in possession of a handgun. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 73900 block of 29 Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Inside the car was James Kuhnast, 35. The deputy searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia and a handgun in the center console wrapped in a bandana. The report states Kuhnast is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess firearms. James Kuhnast was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
