CONSTRUCTION STARTS FOR NEW SIGN FOR SKY’S THE LIMIT

1

Construction has begun on a sign at the entrance to the campus of Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center in Twentynine Palms. A team of volunteers, led by Bob Carter, Twentynine Palms Historical Society’s “Old Timer of the Year” in 2015, has dug the footings for the monument sign in preparation of the arrival of concrete Wednesday, March 30. Other donations for the sign were provided by Burrtec and Hi-Grade Materials. As soon as the concrete is placed, work will begin installing the block sign, including a sculpture by noted artist Simi Dabah. The sign, 8 feet tall by 29 feet long, will be visible to visitors entering and leaving Joshua Tree National Park’s Twentynine Palms entrance on Utah Trail.
