Congressman Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 8th District, which includes the Morongo Basin, recently secured $11 million for projects in the district. The appropriations package included more than $600,000 for the Twentynine Palms wastewater treatment project in partnership with the Twentynine Palms Marine base to help the city transition from individual septic tanks to a city-wide wastewater system. $663,224 will go toward the City of Twentynine Palms’ Wastewater Treatment Facility Phase II. The bases’ portion of the project will be fully funded with military construction funding.
