Rep. Paul Cook of Yucca Valley has introduced H.R. 2150, the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program Reauthorization Act of 2013. This bill will reauthorize the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP), which is intended to assist homeless veterans in finding employment. Cook’s bill will extend HVRP, which was scheduled to expire this year, for the next five years. HVRP funds organizations which provide services including job placement, training, development, career counseling and resume preparation. The program also provides support services such as clothing distribution, transportation assistance, and medical and substance abuse treatment. The bill has received bipartisan support from several original cosponsors.
