Yucca Valley residents are urged to be wary of con artists who are going door to door, trying to get your money. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information…
A Yucca Valley resident notified Z107.7 News last week that an unidentified man with some kind of badge has been going door to door in neighborhoods near the high school telling residents the town is requiring them to cut down all their trees in front of their homes. He is saying that if they don’t comply, the homeowners will a) either have to pay him $1000; or b) be fined $1000 by the town. Town Manager Curtis Yakimow told Z107.7 news in an email there is “no one from the Town going around instructing people to cut down trees. All code compliance requirements, if required, are provided to the property owners in writing.”
If someone comes to your door and says he is from the town of Yucca Valley and you need to cut down trees, report the imposter to the Sheriff’s Department by calling 760-366-4175.
