COMPLETE LOCAL PRELIMINARY ELECTION RESULTS

Here are the preliminary results from yesterday’s elections; provisional and some absentee ballots remain to be counted. Two races are relatively close, but are unlikely to change:

Yucca Valley Town Council: Rick Denison, Merl Abel, and Bob Leone.
Twentynine Palms City Council: John Cole, Dan Mintz, and McArthur Wright (Adam Lunn, 60 votes short).

Morongo Unified School District: Chris Proudfoot and Hilary Slotta, (with Doris Lawless 53 votes short).

Hi-Desert Medical Center: Marge Doyle and Paul Hoffman.

Hi-Desert Water District: Dan Munsey, Sheldon Hough and Roger Mays.

Joshua Basin Water District: Rebecca Unger and Vic Fuller, and Bob Johnson for the short-term seat.

Governor: Jerry Brown, with 58 percent of the vote;
U.S. Representative District 8: Paul Cook, with 68 percent of the vote.
State Senator District 16: Jean Fuller, with 72.6 percent of the vote
State Assembly District 42: Chad Mayes, with 66 percent of the vote.

Proposition 1: Funding Water Quality, Supply, Treatment, Storage: Yes
Prop 2: State Budget Stabilization Account: Yes
Prop 45: Healthcare Insurance Rate Changes: No
Prop 46: Doctor Drug Testing, Medical Negligence: No
Prop 47: Criminal Sentences, Misdemeanor Penalties: Yes
Prop 48: Indian Gaming Compact: no
