On Saturday, June 1, Reach Out Morongo Basin, in partnership with Morongo Basin COAD, will be hosting the Southern California Edison-sponsored “Be Aware, Be Prepared 29” event. This family event will take place from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Twentynine Palms Senior Center (6539 Adobe Road). Learn about emergency preparedness with organizations and businesses giving demonstrations and information. Food will be provided for those who attend. You will learn about communication, food storage, solar energy, first aid kits, and emergency planning. Z107.7FM, Edison, Twentynine Palms Water District, American Red Cross, and the Twentynine Palms Fire Department will be at the event to educate attendees about how to prepare for a variety of emergencies.
