Land use planning and development in the more than 20,000 square miles that make up the nation’s largest county is no small task. The Countywide Plan is a work in progress that aims to guide such development for the next 20 years. In this report, Mike Lipsitz says the deadline for comments on the community plans for Joshua Tree and the Homestead Valley communities is tomorrow…
Development policy specific to the communities where we live and work can be found in the Community Plan’s sections of the Countywide Plan. Now in draft form, the county will consider public comments before releasing more final Community Plans early in 2018. Already, the county says public feedback has generated numerous land use changes, adjustments in policy direction, and refinements to the plan. The deadline for your comments on the Draft Community Plans is December 15. The plans are specific to each community and will require some time to review and understand.
