When a disaster strikes, a coalition of community organizations works together to deliver hope in times of need. On Thursday, July 29, members of the Morongo Basin Emergency Management Council will meet at 9 a.m. in the Helen Gray Education Center at the Hi-Desert Medical Center, to discuss whether the Council should be changed to a formal Community Organizations Active in Disaster. The mission of the new community organization will be to deliver disaster recovery services to Morongo Basin residents by sharing information, simplifying access to services, and jointly resolving cases. With the proposed re-organization, the organization will fall under the County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. community organizations who are involved in disaster preparedness, relief and recovery efforts are highly encouraged to attend.
