If your kid needs a new backpack for school, you’re in luck: a whole bunch of them will be given away free tomorrow during a community back-to-school day in Joshua Tree.
Also available at the event: dental screenings, school lunch program signups and information regarding services for homeless or displaced students, victims of domestic violence, and various other programs for families with special needs.
Sponsors include the Morongo Unified School District, Hi-Desert Family Health Clinics, San Bernardino County Schools and the Morongo Basin Community Coalition.
The back-to-school event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Joshua Tree Sportsman’s Club, 6225 Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree. And oh yes, to get that backpack your little student needs to be present.
