The Department of Defense has announced that once again, the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms has been honored with the Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence. Reporter Andrew Dieleman hands out the kudos…
The Commander in Chief’s Award for Installation Excellence recognizes the men and women of the Department’s top military installations in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center is the world’s largest combined arms, live-fire-and-maneuvering training facility. Considered the “crown jewel” of Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, the Combat Center excelled at providing a great quality of life for service members and their families by improving housing, facilities, and many other services. The Combat Center competed on how well it achieved the department’s objectives in several areas of installation management, including mission support, energy conservation, quality of life and unit morale, environmental stewardship, real property management, safety, health and security, communications and public relations.
