Collision on Twentynine Palms Highway leaves one woman dead

On Wednesday night (August 6) at around 10:45 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Prescott Avenue in Yucca Valley. Deputies say that the collision involved a car and a pedestrian identified as Carmen Barker, a 37-year-old resident of San Bernardino. Deputies say they found Barker unresponsive in the roadway, and she was pronounced dead by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Deputies say that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative through the investigation. The Sheriff’s Department says that no criminal charges have yet been filed.
