COLLEGE BOARD MEETS: REORGANIZATION AND TRUCK DRIVING CLASSES

Tomorrow looks to be a busy day for the Copper Mountain College board of trustees, starting with a board reorganization. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has this overview…

The Copper Mountain College board of trustees convene the regular monthly meeting at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. And right off, trustees will
adjourn to a closed session conference with a labor negotiator and also for an employee discipline or dismissal. At about 3 p.m. the board will likely reconvene in open session for regular reports, consent items, and then action items. Among the reports, trustees will hear from president/ superintendent Jeff Cummings on a draft Institutional Effectiveness Report for 2016. Other items on tomorrow’s agenda include election of a board president, vice president, and board secretary; likely approval of a non-credit community education program and consideration of the feasibility of offering a tractor-trailer operator program. Tomorrow’s meetings take place in the Bell Center’s Community Room on the Joshua Tree campus.
