COLLEGE BOARD MEETS, LOOKS AT SOLAR EXPANSION

The Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees meet at 3 p.m. tomorrow and looking at the agenda it appears the Sun has been shining brightly on the school. Reporter Mike Lipsitz explains…

Among items on Thursday’s agenda is renewal of a maintenance and monitoring contract for the solar panels at Parking Lot B. Analysis of the energy costs since installation 10 years ago shows the panels have saved the college roughly $600,000. So in a related resolution, the board will consider expanding the solar installation by finally dipping into the half-a-million-dollar gift the late Susan Luckie Riley gave CMC specifically for solar development.
