COLLEGE BOARD IN REGULAR, SPECIAL, AND JOINT SESSIONS TOMORROW

The Copper Mountain College Board has set a full day of meetings for tomorrow. Reporter Mike Lipsitz gets out the score card…

An ambitious day lies ahead for the Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees, with three back-to-back meetings planned for tomorrow (Thursday). First meeting is a 2 p.m. closed session to make official a three-year contract for Superintendent/President Jeff A. Cummings. Cummings has served in an interim capacity for the last year. At 3 p.m., Trustees convene in open session for the regular monthly meeting in which a host of informational policy and action items are due to be dispatched. Then at 5 p.m. the College District Board of Trustees will reconvene for a much-anticipated special joint meeting with the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education. That agenda calls for a discussion of collaboration opportunities between the districts with the objective of reaching a Memorandum of Understanding, followed by talks on formation of a Community Cabinet and future plans for the districts. All three meetings will take place in the Bell Center’s Community Room on the Copper Mountain College campus.
