Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored today across the country and here in the Morongo Basin.
In Twentynine Palms, the Twentynine Palms Bible Baptist Church held its 18th one-mile march celebration this morning, which started at 8 a.m. at Little Church of the Desert, and ended at Palms Southern Baptist Church,. Following the march, was a program with local speakers, music, and free refreshments.
Government offices, banks, schools, and post offices will be closed Monday, January 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day.
