CITY OF TWENTYNINE PALMS SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON BUDGET ISSUES

The City of Twentynine Palms is giving an early heads-up to its citizens, with regard to budget discussions for the next fiscal year.  Reporter Dan Stork relays the invitation…

The Twentynine Palms City Council is inviting the public to provide input on the city budget during its next regular meeting on Tuesday, April 8, beginning at 6 p.m., at Twentynine Palms City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road. The purpose of the public comment invitation is to provide an opportunity for residents, businesses, organizations, and community stakeholders to express their ideas, suggest priorities, and comment on how resources should be allocated for the next fiscal year, which begins July 1. “The Twentynine Palms City Council will begin reviewing the 2014-2015 fiscal year budget and would like to receive comments from the community on how the City’s resources should be prioritized,”” said City Manager Joe Guzzetta.

Comments and suggestions can be directed to items such as City services, parks, streets, buildings, programs, activities, marketing, or capital projects. The City will not be presenting projected budget revenue or expenditure numbers at this meeting. “This is an opportunity to listen to the public,” Guzzetta said.
