CITY OF TWENTYNINE PALMS SEEKS INPUT ON NEW PARK PROPOSAL

The City of Twentynine Palms held its second community outreach meeting Thursday to solicit information from residents about what they’d like to see at the new Pioneer Park, to be located at Sullivan and Adobe Roads. Rebecca Havely has some of the highlights of the meeting…

Twentynine Palms residents are invited to help plan and design a new park, to be known as Pioneer Park, in Twentynine Palms and expand the Theatre 29 facility. At Thursday’s meeting, residents participated in group activities and discussed features, design elements, beautification, and safety, and they prioritized the features that they would like to see in Pioneer Park. Some of the features chosen by participants included sand volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, an amphitheater, splash pad, shade covered playgrounds and a community garden.

Residents of Twentynine Palms are invited to participate in attending future meetings on Friday, August 28 at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. at Theatre 29, located at 73637 Sullivan Road. To RSVP for the meetings, call 760-367-7562.

An online survey is also available for residents who would like to provide their ideas into the planning and design process. The survey link can be found on the Twentynine Palms city website at 29palms.org or the city’s Facebook page. The survey will be available through September 7.
