The city of Twentynine Palms is seeking the public’s feedback on local access to food, housing and other quality of life markers at a meeting on Thursday, January 12 from 5 to 7PM in Twentynine Palms.
The meeting will also center on local availability of education, healthcare, transportation and public services. All input, experiences and recommendations will be recorded and carefully considered as part of the draft General Plan Element.
Mayor McArthur Wrist says that the city is “looking forward to hearing from residents on these important issues as we continue to push for a safe, healthy community for all.”
After passage of the Fall 2021 resolution denouncing racism and xenophobia, the City formed a General Plan Advisory Committee to guide development of the new Element. In addition to two public workshops held this summer, the Committee recommended holding a public meeting to collect additional community input.
The City’s General Plan is a policy document that establishes a long-term vision and consistent direction for city policy and future development.
