CITIZEN SCIENCE PRESENTATION IN WONDER VALLEY TOMORROW

In Wonder Valley, the regular second Saturday community meeting that would have taken place tomorrow has been postponed, but there is still an afternoon presentation many will find worthwhile.

“Citizen Science for Everyone” is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Wonder Valley Community Center on Amboy Road. Everyone is welcome to attend this free presentation by Jane Rogers, Chief of Science and Resource Stewardship at Joshua Tree National Park. Citizen Science is scientific research conducted by amateurs; the concept has earned a lot of press and is becoming an important part of understanding the land around us. Anyone interested in monitoring environmental change, tracking butterfly migrations, or recording archaeological site information can make a difference in large-scale studies. This presentation will describe the basics of Citizen Science, how to get involved, and how communities may benefit. The presentation is informal with time for your questions.
