CINCO DE MAYO AT HARRISON HOUSE IN JOSHUA TREE

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Harrison House in Joshua Tree with a closing art reception and live music. Artist-in-residence Mark Bulwinkle will close out the year-long installation of his art exhibit, “The Brake Job Cut-Outs,” which features works of intricate flame-cut galvanized steel and aluminum, along with hydraulically-pressed stoneware tiles and digitally-created character portraits. Mexican music, ranging from the jungles of Chiapas to the Sonoran Desert, will be provided by La Zaraguata Band, led by Jxel Rajchenberg of The Land Trio, with special guest Omar Duran. The closing reception will be Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Harrison House, 6881 Mount Lassen Avenue in Joshua Tree. Admission is free. For more information, call 760-366-4712.
