The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) determined Monday, July 20, that education-based athletics for the fall season of the 2020-2021 school year will be delayed until December to help protect student athletes from the spread of COVID-19. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has the details…

The CIF athletics calendar for the 2020-2021 school year.

A modified sports schedule from the CIF has set new anticipated start dates of December 2020 or January 2021 for fall athletic programs including football, volleyball, water polo, and cross country. The calendar outlines dates for the final day of section playoffs and regional and state championships. The CIF has also temporarily suspended outside competition in all sports for the upcoming school year. Each CIF Section Office will release its own athletic calendar based on the new CIF calendar, available below.
