In high school sports tonight, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats will travel to Anaheim and take on undefeated Katella High School in the quarterfinals of the CIF Division 11 playoff bracket. The Wildcats are 8-3, and Katella has an 11-0 record. The CIF playoff game will be played at Glover Stadium at La Palma Park in Anaheim at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 18.
The Joshua Springs Lightning football team will face the Trona Tornados at 7 p.m. tonight in Lightning Stadium for the semi-final round of the CIF-Southern Section Championships. The Lightning are 10-0 and are ranked number 2 in the state; the Tornados are 11-0 and are ranked 27th. Admission is $10 and $5 for students.
And in sports tomorrow, the cross-country CIF finals will be held at the Riverside City Cross-Country Course tomorrow. The Yucca Valley High School Trojans are ranked 12th in Division 4.
