An exhibition of the work of Chuck Caplinger is having an opening tonight at Desert General in Twentynine Palms.

Caplinger is an 85 year old-resident of Twentynine Palms, perhaps best known for the 29! sign that sits on the hillside just off of the highway. He is also the artist behind four murals throughout the city, including “Desert Storm Homecoming & Victory Parade” and “Roadrunner and Lizard” (2007),

Desert General is showing a selection of Caplinger’s oil paintings, and Desert General is holding a reception for the show today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The show will remain up until August 31.

Desert General is located in the Corner 62 Building, located at 73552 Twentynine Palms Highway.
