Christopher Lee dropped a bombshell in court Thursday morning when he confessed to killing Erin Corwin, 19, of Twentynine Palms. According to the Hi-Desert Star, Lee said he strangled his lover and neighbor because she molested his young daughter, and he testified that he wasn’t going to allow anyone to harm his daughter. Lee said his wife, Nichole, discovered their daughter’s alleged molestation one night during the girl’s bath, and Nichole immediately blamed Corwin. On the first day of the trial, Lee’s attorney questioned Corwin’s husband Jon about Erin’s feelings for the Lees’ young daughter. Lee testified Thursday that on June 28, 2014, he drove Corwin two hours into the desert to an abandoned mine east of Twentynine Palms; Corwin had texted a friend she was expecting a marriage proposal from Lee during the outing. The Star reports that Lee testified that Corwin said she wanted to be a part of his life, but when she said she loved Lee’s daughter, “something clicked” and he “freaked out” and put the garrote around her neck and started strangling her until she stopped breathing. He said he “dragged her to the edge of the mine shaft and I pushed her in.”
