CHP SPENDS CHRISTMAS EVE HANDING OUT TOYS

0

Officers from the Morongo Basin station of the California Highway Patrol were out in force on Christmas Eve—not handing out tickets, but delivering toys, smiles, handshakes, and high fives to children in the Morongo Basin. The 863 new toys distributed were courtesy of donations made to the CHiPs for Kids toy drive held in November and December. The CHP uses the toy distribution to interact with children to create a positive, life-long relationship with them, with the intention of creating a bond between law enforcement and the community, and to let children know they should not be afraid of the police who are there to help them.
