The California highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and run collision in Landers on Thanksgiving Day. Sky Sunday, 37, of Landers, was riding a 2020 electric bicycle south on Belfield Boulevard. A suspected 1995 to 2001 Ford Explorer was also traveling southbound on Belfield, directly behind Sunday on his bike. About 5:25 p.m. the Explorer collided into the rear of the bicycle. Sunday was thrown from his bicycle and sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer left the scene of the collision; the vehicle sustained major damage to its front end that caused most of the front grill to be removed.
