While the Centers for Disease Control has urged people to stay home this Thanksgiving holiday, many Californians will hit the roads anyway. To encourage safe travel, the California Highway Patrol will be on maximum enforcement patrol beginning from 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, through midnight Sunday, November 29. Officers will be actively looking for unsafe driving practices as well as helping motorists in need. The CHP reminds residents to buckle up; proper seat belt use is the single most effective way to save a life in the event of a crash.
