The California Highway Patrol will hold a Child Safety Seat Check-Up on Tuesday, June 10. The free event will be held in the Yucca Valley Wal-Mart parking lot from 9:00 until noon. Some of the items trained officers will check, are making sure the child safety seats are appropriate for the age and weight of the child; that the seat is facing the right direction, that it is installed securely to the vehicle’s seat, and check the seat in relation to air bags. California law requires that children be in child safety seats until they are 8 years old or 4 feet, 9 inches in height.
