Vehicle theft is still a major problem for the California Highway Patrol. Reporter Cara Conway offers these suggestions from the CHP to protect your car or truck from theft…
The CHP reported that 2013 vehicle thefts have declined by 2 percent in the state of California; however, 171,000 thefts were still documented statewide. Remember that locking a vehicle alone is not the only preventative measure you can take to keep your vehicle and belongings safe. While vehicle theft is a crime of opportunity, being alert and applying these simple precautions could prevent you from becoming a victim.
