The California Highway Patrol made four arrests for driving under the influence over the New Year’s holiday weekend. According to CHP officer Ramon Duran, that is a 33 percent increase from the previous year. The CHP was on maximum enforcement from 6 p.m. Friday, December 29, until midnight Monday, January 1. CHP officers were looking for not only DUIs, but speeders, drivers on their cell phones, or not wearing seat belts, and unsafe lane changes.
