The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in Joshua Tree Tuesday afternoon. According to CHP Officer Joan Griffin, about 12:30 p.m., Jan Jueschke, 43, of Yucca Valley, was driving a white 2011 Dodge Caravan owned by the County of San Bernardino northbound on Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree. Stopped in front of Joshua Tree Elementary School was a dark, late 1990s or early 2000s Ford F150 with sidesteps. As Jueschke was preparing to turn left into Joshua Tree Elementary School, the driver of the Ford pick up backed into the left side of the Carvan, and then fled southbound on Sunburst Avenue in the truck. The truck possibly has moderate rear end damage, including a broken tail light. Anyone with information about the collision should call Officer Griffin at 760-366-3707.
