CHP LOOKING FOR CAR IN TWENTYNINE PALMS HIT AND RUN

The California Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a red sedan responsible for an accident in Twentynine Palms that injured a Yucca Valley woman. According to the CHP, Valentin Gonzalez, 18, was driving his black 2005 Nissan Altima westbound on Indian Trail just east of Morongo Road shortly before 2:30 last Tuesday. An unidentified driver of a red, mid-1990s Honda or Toyota four-door sedan was driving eastbound on Indian Trail, when for unknown reasons, the red car came into Gonzalez’s lane. In order to avoid a head-on collision, Gonzalez swerved on to the right shoulder, which caused his car to rollover numerous times. The driver of the red car fled eastbound on Indian Trail toward Adobe Road. Gonzalez’s passenger, Franchesca Brewick, 40, of Yucca Valley, broke her wrist in the crash. Gonzalez and his two-year-old sister, who was in a car seat, were not injured. Anyone with information about the crash or the identity of the driver of the red car should call Officer Eric Brewer at 760-366-3707.
