CHP IDENTIFIES PEDESTRIAN KILLED FRIDAY IN MORONGO VALLEY

The California Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian who was killed Friday in Morongo Valley when he was struck by a vehicle as Joshua Alexander, 28, of Pine Grove. According to the CHP, Alexander was walking eastbound in the number 2 lane of Highway 62, just east of East Drive about 10:15 p.m. Miguel DelaCruz, 38, of Los Angeles, was driving a 1992 Nissan pick-up eastbound on Highway 62 behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front of DelaCruz saw Alexander and swerved to avoid hitting him; DelaCruz, however, did not see Alexander and the right front of the truck hit him. Joshua Alexander sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
