CHP BACK TO SCHOOL TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PERIOD BEGINS TOMORROW

The traffic enforcement operation will allow the placement of additional traffic officers each day, at and around the schools in the city of Twentynine Palms, town of Yucca Valley and Morongo Basin areas. Officers will be assigned to enforce all traffic violations, including motorist speeding through school zones, vehicles driving past school bus warning devices (flashing lights with stop arms), noncompliance with seat belt laws, crosswalk violations and failure to stop at stop signs in and around school zones. The purpose of the Back-to-School Traffic Enforcement is to ensure the safe return of students to the 2021-2022 school year.
