“CHiPs for Kids” toy drive kicks off today

Officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Morongo Basin office are collecting toys for kids in need this holiday season. 

The “CHiPs for Kids” toy drive kicks off today, as CHP officers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to be distributed to children and families throughout the the hi-desert over the holiday season.

A commencement event will be held today at Walgreens in Yucca Valley, located at 58133 Twentynine Palms Highway. Officers will be on hand to collect toys from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Over the next several weeks, you can drop off toys in boxes at a number of locations across the high desert, including Walgreens in Yucca Valley, Grocery Outlet in Yucca Valley and 29 Palms, Copy Center in Yucca Valley and 29 Palms and the Morongo Basin CHP Office in Joshua Tree. The last day to donate toys will be December 18th.
