CHILI COOKS SOUGHT FOR YUCCA MESA ANNUAL MESA FEST THIS SATURDAY

The Yucca Mesa Community Center is holding its first annual Mesa Fest this Saturday, September 24, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at 3133 Balsa Avenue just off of Aberdeen. There will be a chili cook-off and Mesa Fest is in need of more entries. The entry fee is $20 and the deadline has been extended to 5:00 p.m. this Friday, September 23.
Organizers say the chili philosophy for this cook-off is “Chili cannot be defined. Whatever you call CHILI we will call chili. Chili may or may not contain meat. Chili MAY contain BEANS. Chili may be red, white, or any other color.”
It is a People’s Choice Judging, and there are cash awards.
First Place: Plaque and $100 cash award
Second Place: Ribbon and $25 cash award
Third Place: Ribbon
