CHILI COOK-OFF AND STICK HORSE RODEO IN PIONEERTOWN TODAY

Today is the Pi-Town chili cook-off and stick horse rodeo. Gates open at 5 p.m. on Mane Street in Pioneertown. The stick horse rodeo parade starts at 5:30, the chili cook off starts at 6, with the award ceremony at 8 p.m. There will be three categories in the chili cook-off: carnivore, vegetarian, and non-traditional. Cash prizes will be awarded. The stick horse rodeo categories include Best in Show, most original, best imitation of a bronc ride, barrel race, adult and kid divisions for fastest time, partners, themed, matching, dressage, and best routine dance with your horse. Entrance fee is $10 at the gate, and guests should bring their own bowl and spoon for the chili.
