Parents left two children locked in their car in 105 degree heat while they went into the DMV office in Twentynine Palms Wednesday afternoon. According to a Sheriff’s report, 911 received a call at 4:19 p.m. from an off-duty military police officer who said a child was crying inside a white Chevy van with no parents in sight. The MP was able to unlock the car door through the driver’s side door which had the window rolled down halfway. One child’s eyes were rolled back in his head and a handicapped child left in the car had signs of heat exposure. The Sheriff’s department is forwarding a report to the District Attorney for possible prosecution.
