CHILDREN FOUND IN FILTHY CONDITIONS IN TWENTYNINE PALMS, MOTHER ARRESTED

A woman who said she had just moved to Twentynine Palms from Arizona was arrested Thursday after her young children were found living in filthy conditions in an apartment with no electricity or gas. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called about 2:30 A.M. Thursday to the Adobe Villas apartments in the 73700 block of Raymond Drive because Brittany Shee, 28, was reportedly neglecting her children, ages 3, 2, and 1. A caller said Shee was passed out on drugs in the apartment, and that the children were dirty, did not have food or water, and the apartment’s gas and electricity had been shut off. Shee told the responding deputy that she and her husband had been arguing, she didn’t know where he was and the utilities had been shut off several days ago. The deputy found dog feces and urine on the floor, rotten food in the fridge, and no way to store or prepare food. Shee allegedly admitted to smoking meth three days ago. She was arrested for investigation of felony child abuse, and on several drug-related warrants and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with total bail set at $165,000.
