The Johnson Valley fried chicken dinner returns this Saturday night. Pull up a chair and enjoy the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh coleslaw and potato salad, and your choice of dessert for $7 per person; kids 12 and under are $4. Doors open at the Johnson Valley Community Center at 4:30 p.m. dinner is at 5 p.m. Following dinner, everyone is welcome to stay for the Johnson Valley Improvement Association general meeting; membership not required. From Highway 247 turn west at Larrea Road between mileposts 20 and 21, the Community Center is one-and-three-quarter miles up on the left.
