CHAD MAYES TO RUN FOR 42ND STATE ASSEMBLY SEAT

Former Yucca Valley Town Councilman and Mayor Chad Mayes, the chief of staff for County supervisor Janice Rutherford, is running for the California State Assembly 42nd District seat currently held by Brian Nestande. Mayes resigned from the Yucca valley Council after his appointment to the chief of staff position. Mayes is supported by Congressman Paul Cook, a moderate Republican, and Supervisor James Ramos, a Democrat. Three Yucca Valley Town Council members—Dawn Rowe, Robert Lombardo, George Huntington— along with Cook and Ramos will appear with Mayes at a fundraiser in Yucca Valley on April 7. The minimum suggested contribution if attending is $100. Mayes is the second Republican to declare for this seat. Chris Mann, founder of the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association, is also running. Mayes is running on a platform of fixing schools, creating jobs, protecting life at all stages, supporting the Second Amendment, among other things.
